Who am i

My name is Michael L. Ankton, and I am a lifelong resident of Clark County who is committed to serving the community that raised me. I grew up supported by a strong family and caring neighbors who helped shape my values of service, hard work, and integrity.

I currently serve as the Justice of the Peace for District 2 on the Clark County Quorum Court. I also teach 7th and 8th grade Social Studies at L. M. Goza Middle School, where I work with students and families every day. My experiences in the classroom and in county government allow me to understand the needs of our community from multiple angles.

I am blessed to share life with my wife, Latavia Ankton. We remain grounded in our faith through our church home at Greater Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Why I Serve

I entered public service because I believe leadership should be present, accountable, and connected to the people it represents. I hear the concerns of families throughout our county. I listen to what residents experience on our roads, in our schools, and in their daily lives. I believe Clark County deserves leadership that responds to those needs with respect and a steady focus on solutions.

My Commitment

I am committed to responsible decision-making, transparent communication, and practical improvements that strengthen our county. My goal is to support families, improve infrastructure, and create a future that reflects the pride and potential of Clark County.

I am Michael Ankton, and I am honored to serve this community.

My Platform

Rural Roads – Our farmers, ranchers, manufacturers, and working families deserve safe, well-maintained roads. They drive our economy through entrepreneurship and essential services, and they work across the county. Every rural route should be properly serviced so public safety teams can respond quickly and efficiently.

Public Safety – We will continue strengthening partnerships with law enforcement, fire, EMS, and 911 to meet citizens’ needs. Our 911 Committee is active, and I want its coordination and planning to keep growing stronger.

Economic Development — We will welcome new industries while supporting the homegrown businesses that make our communities thrive.

Transparency and Access – Clark County is rural, and many residents travel long distances to reach the courthouse. I will expand online access to documents, forms, and county services so people can get what they need without the long drive. Livestreaming and open communication will remain priorities.
